--ABOUT--
I have an unusual name
Katiusha is a weird name for an Italian girl, isn’t it? Not that strange if we consider that my mother is of Russian origin. According to my parents, a name that reflected this fact was a must, so here’s the mystery solved.
The fun side of this story is they have called me the same as a rocket launcher; if you don't believe me, you can always search on the internet! There’s some irony in having the same name as a Soviet weapon system. We can say that I launch myself into action rocket style. (This is called being a comedian) Yet in the end my name seems impossible to write for any mortal being I have ever met: I stopped counting how many times I have seen my name crippled. (Even in official documentation)
Work experience
I have committed myself essentially to several commissions related to illustration over the years. Whether they are portraits, caricatures or various drawings.
I finish my job in the shortest possible time, respecting deadlines, and yet always giving my best. Since I am a born perfectionist, there is no in-between: I try and review it until it is up to expectations.
Academic qualifications
I am now in the fourth year of the infamous scientific high school. In truth, I always wanted to attend an artistic high school to focus on improving my techniques in the field but unfortunately I couldn't do so. So everything I know comes from what I’ve learned all these years as a self-taught.
However scientific high school ain't that bad after all. Math has always been my favorite subject since I started elementary school. I have a great time in algebra and I think it’s relaxing, actually. My brain is inherently inclined to it. In fact, I have always been academically smart, without having to work too hard: many things come to me in a simple and intuitive way. It is very useful and envied as ability.
At the end of the third year I managed to get 12 full credits!
In the future my goal is to take on graduate programs specialized in Communication Design. I’ve been totally in love with it since I discovered the beauty of the design world. I searched for information and information again; I read books; I searched for videos and advice. More and more I was fascinated by the typography, creating logos, layouts, websites... it’s just gorgeous. I always liked the illustration but the graphic and editorial works have my heart.
How I spend my free time
Obviously I do not dedicate myself exclusively to drawing; I say this despite it occupies most of my time between digital or traditional drawing, inked or pencil, color or monochrome.
Volleyball, for exemple, for example, is one of my many passions. I still play at a high level and it regularly occupies my days.
Videogames have won me over since I was a child. I don’t know what I would do without them. They are exciting, interactive, and they can tell stories in the most creative ways. They definitely whet my enthusiasm.
Worth a special mention is the reading as well as the library; magical place for real. I would like to visit it more often but I would say that already going there is a great contribution to society, modestly.
